About us

Jämtland's oldest auction house

Östersunds Auktionsverk is a long-established company, founded back in 1938 by Verner Skoglund. Today it is run by Matilda Kihlgren, who has been the owner since 2026. In the early years, winter auctions were held at Tengens in Ås and summer auctions in Oviken. In 2004 the company took the next step when Sweden's only purpose-built auction hall was built by the lake in Yttergärde, Oviken. Auctions used to be held in the hall, which seats just over 300 people, but today we hold only so-called live auctions online.

We accept household goods from estates and house moves, whole homes as well as single items. We offer packing, sorting, removal and transport of the goods to our auction premises. And of course we are also here for you if you simply feel you have a few too many things at home. We sell everything from gold and silver (for at least the current market value) to rustic furniture and machinery.

Ulf Andersson is in charge of collections and of preparing the auctions, and with almost 30 years in the trade he knows a great deal about most things. We think you should choose us because we are honest and passionate about close customer relationships. Everyone should feel welcome here! We are also good at solving most of our customers' problems.
